Changan Localization — Guide for Qiyuan Q07, UNI-Z and iN-Call multimedia (2026)
China's oldest automaker — proprietary iN-Call platform, moderate difficulty to localize
Changan (长安) is one of the four largest state-owned automakers in China. Its history goes back to 1862: it started as a Shanghai military arsenal and by 1958 was building passenger cars. Today Changan sells over 2 million vehicles a year across three product lines: traditional ICE models, the **Qiyuan** (启源) EV/PHEV line, and the premium **UNI** series. The Deepal and Avatr EV sub-brands are also part of Changan, but we cover them in separate guides due to different multimedia platforms.
Changan models we localize
Changan Qiyuan Q07 (2024–2025)
Mid-size EV/PHEV crossover — flagship of the Qiyuan sub-brand. Multimedia runs on Changan iN-Call with a 15.6" center screen and an 8.9" digital cluster. Uses Snapdragon 8155, which makes third-party app installation straightforward. Localization: full UI translation, CarPlay/Android Auto, Google Maps, voice assistant localization.
Changan UNI-Z (2024)
Compact coupe-styled crossover — signature model of the UNI line. Runs on the newer Changan Zhixing (智行) OS with two 12.3" screens. More locked-down than iN-Call — apps install through a special container. Localization takes a bit longer but the result is stable.

iN-Call vs Zhixing OS
iN-Call is the base Changan multimedia platform, built on Android with a Snapdragon SoC. Open enough for modification: localization is done by patching system APKs and language packs. Works on Qiyuan Q07 and most classic Changan models.
Zhixing OS is the newer locked platform for premium UNI models. AliOS kernel, apps via Changan's own store. Localization needs container unlock and a language patch — the process is more complex, taking 4–5 hours instead of 3–4.
What Changan localization includes
Full multimedia translation (all menus, settings, ADAS warnings), wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps as a native app, voice assistant localization (English speech recognition), climate control and owner-app translation. Factory Changan warranty is fully preserved — the process is reversible.
Timing, price and warranty
Qiyuan Q07: 3–4 hours, **400–500 USD**. UNI-Z: 4–5 hours, **450–550 USD** (Zhixing OS is harder). One-year workmanship warranty. We work remotely (firmware files over internet) or in the Tashkent workshop. Payment after verification on the vehicle.

What's the difference between Changan, Deepal, Avatr and Qiyuan?
Changan is the parent company. Qiyuan (启源) is the mass-market EV/PHEV sub-brand inside Changan. Deepal (深藍) is a separate Changan EV sub-brand on the Huawei HarmonyOS platform. Avatr is a premium joint venture of Changan + Huawei + CATL. Multimedia platforms are different for each, so guides are separate.
Does Changan Qiyuan Q07 support wireless CarPlay?
Yes — activated during localization. CarPlay isn't advertised for the Chinese version stock, but the iN-Call platform on Snapdragon 8155 works with it correctly after our package is installed.
How long does UNI-Z localization take?
4–5 hours of work. Longer than Qiyuan Q07 because of the locked Zhixing OS platform — we need to unlock the app container and install a language patch.
Can Google Maps and Waze be installed?
Yes, both install as native apps. Work offline and online, integrated with HUD projection (on UNI-Z) and the voice assistant.
Will the Changan warranty be preserved?
Yes, in full. We do not touch the ECU or safety systems — only multimedia. The process is reversible: you can restore the factory state before a dealer visit.
